Cosmetic Dental Treatments
A smile can be the most eye-catching feature of a face. With dentistry's many advances, you no longer have to settle for stained, chipped, or misshapen teeth. You now have choices that can help you smile with confidence. Crooked teeth can be straightened, chipped or broken teeth can be repaired, missing teeth can be replaced, gaps between teeth can be closed, gummy smiles can be recontoured, stained or discolored teeth can be whitened, and so much more.
Smile Extreme Makeovers: Once the dentist and patient determine the "style" of the desired smile, the dentist takes an impression of the patient's existing teeth. That impression is sent to a lab with precise instructions of what the smile should look like. The lab creates a "wax up" a wax model of how the enhanced smile or repaired teeth will look. The patient and dentist review the wax up and either make changes or give the lab approval to proceed. From the wax up, the lab creates the patient's new "teeth", typically a combination of veneers, crowns, inlays and onlays made of porcelain.
Veneers and Lumineers: Veneers can create the perfect smile. Veneers can correct discolored or chipped teeth. It can also correct spaces between teeth. The procedure itself can be completed in two visits. During the first visit, the enamel is slightly reduced and temporaries are placed. During the second visit, a thin porcelain covering is placed and bonded.
Invisalign: Invisalign is a method of orthodontic therapy promoted as an "invisible" way of straightening teeth without using traditional braces. It instead uses a series of clear custom-fabricated aligners designed to gradually and sequentially move teeth to their desired positions. The main advantage of the treatment is cosmetic: the aligners are completely transparent and difficult to detect. This makes the method particularly popular among adults who want to straighten their teeth without the unflattering look of traditional metal braces, which are commonly worn by children and adolescents. In addition, the aligners are marketed as being more comfortable than braces.
Advanced Teeth Whitening: Teeth whitening is used to correct discoloration of the teeth by removing the brown and yellow staining. The term "teeth whitening" can refer to a number of techniques to improve the brightness of the patient's teeth. Among them are chemical whitening, mild acid whitening, abrasive teeth brightening and the newest technique, laser teeth whitening.
Dental Reshaping and Contouring: Dental reshaping and contouring is a procedure to correct crooked teeth, chipped teeth, cracked teeth or even overlapping teeth in just one session. This procedure is even a substitute for braces under certain circumstances. This is also a procedure of subtle changes. A few millimeters of reduction and a few millimeters of tooth-colored can create a beautiful smile when performed by a cosmetic dentist, with no discomfort to you. Tooth reshaping, or dental contouring, is commonly used to alter the length, shape or position of your teeth.
Natural Looking Crowns and Bridges: A dental bridge is a false tooth, known as a pontic, which is fused between two porcelain crowns to fill in the area left by a missing tooth. The two crowns holding it in place that are attached onto your teeth on each side of the false tooth. This is known as a fixed bridge. This procedure is used to replace one or more missing teeth. Fixed bridges cannot be taken out of your mouth as you might do with removable partial dentures.
